I Read Some Things: Week of January 12, 2015

I read some things this week. After the jump, you can read them, too.

The Angry DM rants about inspiration as a DM, and not the 5E mechanic. Like most of Angry’s rants, it’s a good one.

The Dungeon Master’s Screen got released this week. I linked to its contents last week, but here it is in pictures, courtesy of The RPG Academy. I’m sure there are plenty of places to find this online, but I like their podcast, so I’m going to send people their way.

Emily Griffen discusses how boardgames made her a better entrepreneur.

The Wall Street Journal has a story about some Green Bay Packers playing Settlers of Catan. It’s behind a paywall, but you can Google “WSJ green bay packers catan” and read it, if you like reading things about jocks who play games. As a former jock who plays games, I do.

Cones of Dunshire on Kickstarter? Cones of Dunshire on Kickstarter. I would make the bold prediction that this is going to be terrible, but then I read this line: “Only pledges of $500 and up includes a copy of the deluxe game.” Now I just think this won’t ever reach the $300,000 level of funding they’re hoping for.
